... Your dreams were your ticket out (Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back!)

I've so very much missed LJ. But the format changes were unbearable. I just fell further and further into the FB habit. And while a social media platform, just not the same. I tinkered with IJ and DJ. Meh. Not sure what prompted me to check into LJ this evening. But I'm glad that I did. Low and behold, the original LJ format has been restored! It's a good thing because right now I'm in need of a less spotlight-y outlet to blog. And it appears use of LJ is still down to a dedicated few. So, more news and more posts to come (without a ten month gap in between!)... Beep!

She's alive!

A quick post to say hello to my LiveJournal family. Life is pretty much the same down here in Alabama. I'm still working at Starbucks and was certified a Coffee Master in December. I just started season two of "Ghost Whisperer" and have gone back on my low carb diet (which I was hugely successful wirh a few years ago) to try and take off the weight I've gained (courtesy of Starbucks pastries) More news later. Maybe even this weekend. Beep!

The Far Side on the Far Side!

No surprise #1: I'm a Sci-fi Geek. No surprise #2: I'm intrigued by the Multiverse/Alternate Universe/Parallel Universe theories. I've been catching up on past Fringe (TV Series) episodes and came across this. I'm a HUGE Hefty-Nosed Penguin fan. I love the ide that in a Parallel Universe, Opus is a Peahen!

Adventures of a Garden-Variety Vegetarian!

My new summer love: Himalaya International Veggie Burgers. All natural ingredients and 50¢ a patty. They've inspired me to start making my own homemade veggie burgers. With the mainstream popularity of meatless products, modern mock burgers are not only expensive but chocked full of preservatives. Not to mention I no longer need my burgers to simulate the taste of meat. I'm good with black beans, sweet potatoes or lentils & rice. I can make them up in big batches to freeze. Then Cris will cook 4 or 5 on the grill and I'm set for dinners or I lunches.
